Shrine tour

The Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Scapular - Parish Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, is the oldest sacred monument of our city - Tomaszów Lubelski. The uniqueness of this place is evidenced by its beautiful wooden interior with a unique atmosphere and fragrance, as well as its surroundings conducive to rest and spiritual meditation. The interior of the 17th century Baroque temple features a beautiful main altar with the Miraculous Image of Our Lady of the Scapular, side altars, restored paintings and an exceptionally ornate 18th century music choir parapet.

The centerpiece of the shrine is the image of Our Lady of the Scapular, which has been famous for miracles for centuries. It is here, in front of the throne of Our Lady of Tomaszów, that pilgrims come every year asking for intercession and asking for needed graces. In the Sanctuary, in addition to the Miraculous Image, there are relics of St. Rita, to whom a novena is celebrated every 22nd day of the month. The uniqueness and charm of this place make pilgrims and tourists return here with great joy and eagerness. Next to the Sanctuary grow centuries-old linden trees that create a unique microclimate and shade the field altar and the historic bell tower. At the back of the church, in the old moat, in an enchanting setting of flowers and bushes, is the so-called Calvary with stone chapels depicting scenes of the Stations of the Cross. Here we can also see the Columns of Remembrance - monuments to history, commemorating people of merit and the most important historical events of our city and country.
