The Rectangular, unframed painting depicts the saint in full form, en face as an elderly man with his chin and his eyes pointing downward to the right. The apostle rests his right leg on a small pedestal, while resting an open book on his leg. The robe is richly draped with a certain flair, softly falling folds of yellow-brown color with a tinge of dark green. Above the figure, an inscription in Latin is faintly legible, while in the lower part of the painting an inscription on the pedestal reads: S.MATHEUS
The painting is on the wall in the nave on the left side.
